Grand Papa Round 2!
So, this is my second upload (is that even the correct term?) of images of my father. This time around I've tried to veer away from the direct shots, although as some have suggested, i may still include them in the final edit. Instead I'm now back to the suggestion rather than straight out presentation way of thinking, trying to build an image of my dad through a series of images. Anyway again let me know what you think and now I've figured out how to put text under the images I'll be able to fill you in on a little bit more detail about certain shots. Enjoy!
This for me is quite a personal image. My dad's never been a great cook, going to see him at weekends as a kid was always a bit of an education into the microwave meals on offer from Waitrose! But as we grew up he did to and eventually i taught him how to make Spaghetti Bolognese, which by now he's a master at! We eat it pretty much every time we see him and Im still not bored of it yet.

My dad's a big cricket fan. He had to give up a professional contract with Middlesex when i was born because the money in those days wasn't good enough to support a family. Weak ankles mean he can't play anymore.
Hope to reshoot this one tomorrow, there's a mountain of tea bags now so think the image will have a bit more meaning. Basically my old man drinks allot of tea (decaff of course, he's a modern sort of man!)

Right, so this is some of the work so far from a documentary series so far untitled all about my father. Originally i didn't want to include any portraits as i felt that a viewer makes too many assumptions based on a persons face, yet having started shooting i realised that the only way to really understand a person is through not only their actions but also through their expressions. So the project has gone full circle and will now be a series of portraits punctuated by close up images of various possessions or actions i associate with with my father. Feel free to comment, all opinions help!

Let the great experiment begin!
Here we go then, blogging! Firstly thank you for taking a look at my blog, any comments are much appreciated, unless its just straight abuse then probably best to just not bother!
So, my first level 3 project done and dusted. It centers around me, in a way its a visual representation of key events in my life, and the way i have collected items to remind me of them, almost entirely by accident! The final piece was presented in book form, made to look like a journal or diary hence the lined backing. Anyway, hope you enjoy then!
